Foods For Stress

What I ate to eat Wednesday with Jenn.

Are you feeling stressed out or run down? Heck, whose not these days. But what if you could change it?  Well, even though there is no "easy button" to make the stress magically go away, there are little things you can do each day to help. Like eating certain foods! Yes, thats right I said eating!


Let me tell you what and how:

Almonds
-Give you're immune system a nice little boost
-Packed with Vitamin B, E and Zinc
-Plain are the best for you

-Help keep blood pressure down
-Packed with potassium
-Avocados are a source of good fat

• Crunch Veggies
-Foods with a crunch help beat stress
-Very nutritious
-Carrots, celery, etc.

• Dark Chocolate

-Helps ease emotional tension
-May lower levels of stress hormones
-Improves mood naturally

• Green Veggies
-Aid in emotional well-being
-Packed with vitamins and minerals
-Asparagus, spinach, kale, etc

• Milk

-Relieve tense muscles
-Drink at bedtime for a more restful sleep
-B vitamins, proteins, Vitamin D, and Calcium

• Sweet Potatoes
-Have immune boosting nutrients

• Tea

-Helps to calm nerves

• Whole-grain Snacks

-Carbs offer an energy boost
-Trigger the brain to release serotonin
