Foodspiration #1: Muffins

So Thursday night I got this overwhelming feeling that I wanted to bake! I couldn't wait to get home from school and see what I could make. I looked in the cupboard and had a few packages of Martha White Muffin Mix.

These are some of the easiest muffins to make and are incredibly tasty! I decided to make a mixture of Wildberry (left) and Banana Nut (right).

As I was waiting for the muffins in the oven it hit me how food can inspire and motivate us just like anything else. My excitement to get home and bake these muffins got me through two more classes. This is not the first time I have had a time where being excited about a certain food has gotten me through a situation or time period. I'm sure we all have experienced this!

Whether it be; a tasty home meal, dinner plans with a friend, going to a favorite restaurant or getting my most loved take-out all have at some point given me an extra kick for the day. It's crazy how things can motivate us when we don't even realize (or think) that they would have the ability to.

And I just have to say....
They turned out absolutely delicious and were a perfect after dinner sweet!

Have you ever thought of food as a motivator?

  1. I haven't had a muffin in a long time and I'm not sure why because they're so good! These look like they turned out so good!

    1. I honestly hadn't had one in a long time and I'm not sure where my want to bake them came from, but they were very tasty!

  2. They look delish!
I've never really seen food as motivational. Lol I am currently on the road to learning to appreciate food. I've always known food in an unhealthy way. Either I abuse it or I ignore it completely.
Now I'm learning to value it and enjoy whole foods for the benefits it has.
I guess I'm on the road to seeing food as motivational although I'm not there yet.
Seeing those muffins make me want to eat the whole tray. Lol

    1. I hadn't really either until that hit me when I was baking and then I thought back to other moments where I could remember the excitement to go somewhere or eat something helped get me through the last few hours of something else! Very awesome for you though girl! It's important to figure out what is best for you, for sure. Good luck with it all!

    1. Thanks girly!! I couldn't believe I hadn't thought of it that way really before either even though once I did I could recall numerous accounts that it was! And thank you they were! Still a few left surprisingly! Hehe!

  4. Food was always motivational for me as a student; the thought of a good dinner, brunch with a friend or going food shopping always got me through my assignments. Now that I've graduated, I still get excited about food as a motivational treat, but more because I associate it with seeing my friends, who normally live far away. Food makes me happy, full stop!

    Also, those muffins look delicious!
