Embracing Your Clean Slate

Hey everyone! Wednesday's over here usually yield a photo album post, but after a little thinking I came to the conclusion that I wanted this to become something I do once a month. With not blogging last week I missed starting this at the beginning of June which means the plan is now to do this series at the end of the month! It is a really fun post to do and unfortunately I would find myself rushing to pick a picture so I felt taking more time to prep could make these more special. This process of simply reevaluating a weekly post made me realize how easy it is to start over. Honestly that's one of the great things about this life we live…everyday we have the chance to have a clean slate.

Now I am sure everyone reading already knows this yet, here it is anyway - not every day will go as intended. Actually, my days rarely go as planned. The good news? It is just one day of the many we have to live. When we look at it that way whatever happened doesn't seem like such a travesty. Don't get me wrong, it's normal to struggle, we all do, especially right then and there in the moment. The key is to let it go when your eyes close for the night. This is something I still am personally working on for the bigger instances of life. I find myself holding onto issues, then dreaming of worries or stresses on my mind. When this happens I not only wake up still thinking about it, but also already feeling mentally (and sometimes physically) exhausted. If I were to just take a few minutes when I lay my head on my pillow to take a deep breath and clear my head I know the morning to come would be much better. The opportunity for a new beginning is out there, it's ours for the taking.

Questions of the Day:
1) Do you look at every day as a new beginning?
2) How do you let go of a previous day?
3) What do you do when things don't go as planned?

  1. This is such a great post- and great reminder that if our day gets off track, we shouldn't let it ruin our entire day!

    1. It's definitely hard at times, but it is also something that we can continually work on!

  2. Beautifully said! The best thing we can do it take each day as a fresh start to be our best selves and try our hardest, but not let the set-backs get us down.

  3. This is a great post, I've had a rubbish day and never think of each day as a new beginning!
I will definitely be thinking of tomorrow as a new start, putting todays stress behind me.

  4. Great post, Nicole! I like such positive people like you are. ;)
Seeing every day as a new beginning is a much better choice than beating ourselves up for yesterday's mistakes. But I have to admit, I'm still working on that as well.

    1. Aww, thank you! And it is something I'm most certainly still working on too. But honestly I am okay with that because I think it keeps me (us) on my (our) toes to be actively aware!

  5. I really don't that often :/ I try too :) I struggle to let go of the previous day sometimes, usually if I get plenty of sleep I've forgotten about it a little :) when things don't go as planned I just go with the flow....gosh, for once I've actually answered the questions you've asked! :) as always great post Nichole! :D xxxx
