Funny Yet True Facts

A while back I posted about how laughter is the best medicine; it included why this is as well as different ways to add some laughter in your life. Over the past week or so this post has been resonating in my mind while I have been personally experiencing how much a good laugh really can do. One of the things that had me chuckling recently was a list of hilariously true facts I found on StumbleUpon. I picked out some favorites to share hoping to make your weeks end a little brighter!

This is way too true not only for wifi, but phone service in general. The third just happened to me yesterday at the gym! Where I go to workout I have like zero to no service. Now, my phone likes to taunt me by telling me I have something there and not allowing it to load. All morning while I was home with wifi and good service nothing "urgent" came across my screen. However, 20 minutes after I arrived at the gym an email I needed to respond to came in. I opened it taking the chance that maybe I would get lucky and it would. Nope! I got an error message "couldn't be downloaded." I ended up walking to the windows doing the whole holding my phone up in the air looking like a complete goof!

I literally (and sincerely) LOL'ed at this one. My favorite in this has to be the very first. There have been a countless number of sites where I have been the "one millionth visitor." It probably would take me all my fingers, toes and then some to add up to how many times this has happened!

Thankfully I have never experienced any sort of fire hazard, but I remember at different times hearing, "op it works!" in regards to the smoke detector. The food that was cooking wasn't necessarily burnt, well actually it was rarely burnt, it was just the fact that something had fallen onto one of the burners of the oven. The result? A smoke filled kitchen and a reminder the detector worked!

Such an accurate transformation! Although I can't refer to 1975 itself, I can say I have used tic-tac-toe as a time waster before. Boy, oh, boy could I rack up those points on snake back in the day!

To me the middle is more relevant thinking to when I was in school and now blogging, but nonetheless it makes its point! I've learned that wherever I'm by an outlet to try to make sure my computer is fully charged before I head away from it. I also tend to hit the save button like it's my job!

Oh IKEA, what a maze you are! I have tried to use the map that they provide, quickly realizing that map or not odds are at some point during your duration there it's inevitable that you will get lost. It's quite the marketing tactic though, making it hard to not end up walking out with unintended items!

…or concerts, plays, and various sporting events. I'm sure we all have encountered this or have been with someone who has. When I was younger I'd used my parents coats as a boost!

Ahhh, so many times have I been in the process of touching the send button when the light bulb goes off that there is an error! Even though it usually is little tedious things it still is frustrating. Twitter is another one where this occurs often only, at least there's a simple way to press delete. I've never had much luck with trying to recall emails and there's not really a concrete way to be sure it worked.

When I was on my way home on Monday night I hit three totally separate road blocks! I wasn't in a rush to get home per se, more so just anxious and those orange and white signs weren't helping.

Questions of the Day:
1) Can you relate to any of these?
2) Is there one that make you laugh most?
3) Do any other funny yet true facts come to mind?

  2. Hahahahahha! Thank you for the laughs ;) O man and the spelling thing! I swear, when ever I read and go over a post I have written to check for errors I never find any. Then I publish it and my mom always comes at me with 50 errors. But then the posts i don't really look over always end up being fine....

    1. It's that crazy?? I think its because our brains know what we want/are trying to say so we just read it as such!

  3. Haha, these are really funny! Thank you. I saw one the other day that was mimicking the cross stitched sign that says "home is where the heart is but instead it said "Home is where the Wi Fi is".

  4. I loved these! The computer/wifi ones are so true! My computer tends to act up when I actually need it to do something important! And the movie theater thing drives me crazy-- why do people do that?? haha

    1. Yes! My computer always seems to run slow when I need it to work right and fast when I'm just messing around!

  5. The way I know when my oven has reached it's temp is when the smoke alarm goes off, we have one of those hyper sensitive ones, which I know is a great idea but it goes off for everything and being to high up I have to poke it with a stick to turn it off!

    1. Oh my gosh, that is great! I'm sure also on the slightly annoying if it goes off for everything though! But at least you don't have to worry about a kitchen timer:))

  6. The email one is totally me! It happens all. the. time. I always want to send a second email correcting myself, but I don't want to be annoying either!
Also, going to the movies is perpetually hard for a short person. The worst is when people sit in front of you when there are tons of open seats where they won't block your view!

    1. I always that person that corrects myself in a text. I've never done it in an email either though! And that would be the worst! I've had people sit close in a quite empty theatre but not right in front!

  7. I (seriously) lol'd at so many of these -- thank you for the laughs on this rainy and gloomy morning :) I can relate to almost all of them, but I'll speak to the wasting time one because of my love for gaming... I can't even tell you how many hours I've wasted playing Minesweeper and Snake... and the best part is that even though I'm older, I'm still wasting time on video games -- although these days it's Candy Crush and Farmville ;)

    1. I'm happy to have made your rainy morning a little brighter! :) And oh most definitely! Mine was candy crush for a while but now I'm back to doodle jump! The gaming one did make me miss those older games though…as well as BlackBerry brick breaker!
