Friday Favorites #17: Week of 6/27/14

Hey everyone! This week legitimately went by in the blink of an eye for me. I mean this whole month did honestly! How about you? Nonetheless, Friday is here, which brings about another round of favorites to spill and as always make sure to tell me what you have been loving this week too!

--A Fault In Our Stars
On Monday Billy and I went to see A Fault In Our Stars. I personally have not read the book yet, but do have plans to. I usually try to read a book before I see the movie so I did things a little backwards this time. I didn't want to take the chance I would miss it while it was in theaters because I have a couple other books in the pipeline at the moment. The movie itself however was incredible. The messages throughout are amazing. All I can say is make sure you're prepared to shed a few tears.

--Long(ish) Drives
Long drives can be so peaceful. I have been doing them more frequent lately and I really enjoy my time in the car. Sometimes I turn the radio up and sing at the top of my lungs. Sometimes I drive in complete silence just thinking about life. Sometimes I take the time to reorganize my thoughts and things I have to do. Sometimes I brainstorm about different topics for the blog. Other times I look at the beauty of nature around me. No matter what it may be, I never find myself board when driving.

--Late Night Workout
Earlier in the week I went for a late night gym session with some of my friends. I forgot how much I love working out at night if/when I have the ability too. I always wake up the next morning feeling more refreshed than ever and ready to take on the day. Going to the gym with friends in general makes a workout that much better too. I think I got as good of an ab workout in because of the fun we were having as I did actually doing abs. Friends are also great motivators!

--Treating Yourself
Yesterday morning I had a little bit of pampering! It started by going for a massage. Confession...I totally fell asleep during. I actually like to sleep if I can because I feel that by doing so I become even more relaxed. After the massage I met my mom at the nail salon for a manicure and pedicure. I absolutely love the way my feet feel after pedicures. It was quite a wonderful start to the day!

--Draft Party
As I am sure all of you basketball fans are aware last night was the NBA draft. The Pistons put on a draft party for their season ticket holders and I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to work it. I love interacting with people so one of my favorite parts was helping out over at the photo booth.

During the downtime when there were no season ticket holders waiting to take their pictures with us, we decided to take our turn with the camera. The night was loads of fun!

What things made your Friday favorites list this week/month??

❤ Nichole

Linking up with Heather!

  1. Yes this month flew by! It's crazy! How can it be July already! I can't/won't believe it :P
I've been thinking of just taking a "Sunday" drive to just get myself out of the house and maybe adventure a bit! If the roads are empty and I can just relax with the music, a drive always perks me up!

    1. I can't believe it either! I love drives like that! It also can slow down time, or so it seems, for that day too. Just the road and you! You'll have to let me know when/if you do!

  2. That mani/pedi date with your mom sounds awesome! It's been too long since I've done something like that. Also, I totally watched the draft last night and thought of you. I was like hmmm wonder if Nichole has an event or anything haha.

    1. It was so nice! We like to do it when we can and just have some "us" and "girl" time. It had been a few months so was much overdue! Awww, you are so sweet to think of me!<3

  3. i'm still catching up on your recent posts but I just had to read this one when I saw the photo choice :) I've been to the cinema today to watch a fault in our stars, it was a very beautiful story but I'm not convinced by the hype surrounding it..I did read the book first :) xxx

    1. I've never been one to follow hype of something I just really enjoyed the storyline I saw from the previews. Those kind of movies are always something I am drawn too! And I can't wait to see and follow your new blog series about the movies!:))

  4. The Fault in Our Stars is my all time favourite book so I cried like a baby at the film! Soo lucky that you got to have a massage I haven't had one in years! :D xx

    1. Hearing all the good things about the book makes me so excited for when I get to read it! And it was really wonderful! I hadn't had one in a while either. Sometimes it's just the perfect little pick me up!

  5. I want to watch the fault in our stars but I'm scared of how much I'll cry, haha. I'm such a weakling and I know that I'll be in tears through the whole thing!

Working out at night is fun, I also really like to work out in the morning - a run to start the day puts me in a great mood!

    1. It's definietly worth the crying to see! I also like working out in the morning too! It gives a nice energy boost for the day!

  6. I love how your posts are always so happy and cheery! You seem like a smiley person through and through! I haven't tried late night workouts in agessss myself but think I might need to give them another shot!
