MIMM #16 {This Thing Called Life}

So, you may have noticed that my blog has been dormant for about a week and a half now.. It was not a planned blogging break, but yet it did happen and for that I would like to give you guys an explanation as to why. On Friday night, May 30th, my boyfriends dad passed away. He was diagnosed with liver cancer about nine months ago. A little over a month ago, he had been at Billy's and my graduation and doing pretty well, which is why his passing really took us all by surprise. Billy and I were very fortunate to have been able to spend some with him time that Friday afternoon prior to his passing. For me this last week was filled with Billy's family and I didn't find myself sitting down to write up a post. I was a tad worried about not, but at the same time knew it was for the best because I did not want to publish a post that was thrown together just for the sake of posting.

I'm happy to be back blogging and linking up today with Katie

Note: starting the weekend recap with Thursday as compared to Friday.

Warning: this post has lots of pictures. :)

Thursday:
The majority of the day was spent with Billy's nephews since it was their last day in town. During the early afternoon we played a few different card games while sitting outside enjoying the nice weather. Once it cooled a little we headed out for a round of putt putt and some ice cream. The night ended by going to watch my brothers first soccer game for his summer league.

Friday:
Billy and I went to a Detroit Tigers baseball game with my mom and dad against the Boston Red Sox's. It had been a couple of years since my last time at a Tigers game - we had a lot of fun! After there was a really pretty fireworks display. And the cherry on top of it all…we also won!

Saturday:
Was the wedding day of two very good friends of ours. The ceremony was absolutely gorgeous and the reception was a blast! I'm so so happy for them. Congrats again Dave and Jenny!

Sunday:
Started off by going to church with the family. After church we had a little birthday celebration for our friend Emily (her birthday was Tuesday). Next up was lunch and I got excited when the decision lead us to a place with sushi! When we got home Emily and I had an arts and crafts project to tackle - reverse glass bowl painting. I can't wait to flip them over when they dry to see how they actually turned out. Happy birthday again Em, so happy we could celebrate with you!

Emily's bowl is on the right and mine is on the left.

How was your weekend??

❤ Nichole
