MIMM #7 {Friends & Fun}

Hi there! So, Monday's have easily become one of my favorite days. How you ask? Because I get to link up with Katie for Marvelous in My Monday. It's all about celebrating the good from your weekend to help start the week off with positivity in mind. I get excited to share mine with you and hear about yours!

Started off with stopping by my school's Relay for Life.

I could only stay a couple hours.

But the time that I was there was great.

My school has always done an amazing job of putting this event together.

After leaving my parents, boyfriend and I were off to the Piston's game.

One of my favorite parts of the game is before meeting cuties like this.

My teammates and I always love to have fun with pictures, like this..

and this..

Saturday:
Morning came bright and early as I headed off to our dance clinic.

It was so fun to work with the 6-8 year old group.

I can't wait to see all the groups perform at today's game!

That night Billy and I has taco night with some friends.

Sunday:
Began by going to church since morning practice was canceled.

I had the afternoon free until heading to school for senior send-off.

I have been a member of Tri-Sigma for 4 years.

I can't imagine college without my sisters by my side.

They all have touched and inspired me in so many ways.
I'm really going to miss them all, but I won't stay far away.

I'm happy to have these beautiful ladies next me as I walk.

After senior send-off Billy took me to watch the sunset.

How was your weekend?! What were your marvelous moments?!

Before I say bye, here is some motivation for our Monday!

Friday Favorites #5: Week of 3/28/14

Howdy! Is it just me or did this week go by like the snap of a finger?? Hope you're all excited for your weekend! Mine is full of multiple activities, which I can't wait until Monday to recap for you all! Today on the docket, however is a stop by my schools Relay for Life and then headed down for a home game!

Are you ready to share what you've been loving this week? I know I am!

--Pretty Little Liars
I just started this show on Monday via Netflix and I can honestly say that I am obsessed. It is such a great show and creates much anticipation. I find I have a hard time stopping myself from pressing "watch next" when an episode ends. When I first saw previews I wasn't sure what to think of it, then hearing others talk about it I decided to give it a shot. I am glad I did!

--SOL Headphones
These were a Christmas gift I received. Last weekend when I was having my study-palooza I broke them out. As soon as I turned on my music I was sad it took me so long to open the packaging. They are incredible. The music that they produce is amazing. One really cool feature of these is that they come apart and you can change the headband color. They are also flexible so I am not scared if I put them in the wrong spot they may break. If you are looking for a good pair of headphones I recommend checking these out!

--Energy Water Flavoring
My mom purchased these from Kroger and they are really tasty as well as give a nice little boost. I have used other types of energy flavorings before, but when they aren't in their own packaging I struggle with making sure I add in the right amount. The nice thing about these is they are grab and go.

There are a few flavors to choose from, but I enjoy the Tangerine Strawberry.

--Cap and Gown
On Wednesday I picked up my cap and gown. It is crazy to think graduation is so close and now that I have these items in hand it has become reality! I am so very excited to be at this point in my life, but I am going to miss it all. I am thankful for each and every minute I have been at my University.

--Phone Case
The other week I ordered a few phones cases from Amazon. They are all very cute and not one of them was over $3 so I couldn't pass them up. Yesterday I received one in the mail. I love the saying on this one. The fact it is dance centered sold me right away and then the meaning behind it just solidified that fact I needed it in my life. It talks about to how important it is to be you and not try to be someone else; dance to the beat of your own drum.

--Sydney Leigh
At the game on Wednesday night we had a halftime original. The girl who performed is 15 and very talented! We had a blast performing with her and we wish her luck for her future. Check her out here!

The song we performed to of hers was Crazy Beautiful! The video's below.

Disneyfication

Hey all! Hope your week is going great! Keep your heads up, it's almost the weekend! Thursday's are for thinking, so let's get to it with a Disney twist.

Nothing's Impossible.
If we put ourself, our whole self, completely into whatever it is we want to accomplish it can happen. Lack of care or effort are the things that make us fall short of our goals. The word itself says, I'm possible.

The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all.
What we face in life helps to create who we are. Everything that happens, happens for a reason. Now, we may never understand why something does, but we have to trust in it, which can be the hardest thing to do. If we do however, we can shine brighter than ever.

Just keep swimming.
Life will knock us down, but that's not where we have to stay. As Dora says in Finding Nemo, we have to just keep swimming. Eventually once we swim far enough we will find our way back to the surface.

But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger, you'll learn things you never
knew that you never knew.
We each have our own life and our own path. We can never fully know what someone else is going through unless, we take the time and try. We jump so quick to conclusions without even knowing the truth of the matter. If we took the time to really know who was in our lives we would learn a lot.

Ohana means family, family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.
The definition for family is different for everyone. I have my family and I also have friends that are as close as family. The point is, whoever are those family members to you, will always be there for you. Yes families fight, it's a part of life, but in the end they are who you'll always have no matter what.

Hakuna Matata - it means no worries for the rest of your days.
Worrying is truly a waste of time. Most often we worry about things that never end up happening. During this time we also miss out on living life to the fullest. Moments pass by without us embracing every bit we can because we are focused on something else and some other time.

Disney movies have a way of creating a wonderful feeling. Actually, all types of "kids" movies do. I say "kids" because that's how some people look at them, but for me personally most of them will forever be on my must-see list! No matter how old I get. The life lessons you can learn are incredible.

Questions of the Day:
1) Are you a fan of "kids" movies? If so, what ones?
2) Which of these is something you tell yourself often?
3) Is there one that is hard for you to accept/do?

The Photo Album #1

Happy Wednesday! Today kicks off a series I am very excited to be apart of. My good friend Kayla from the lovely Microscope Life recently started "The Photo Album." It's about finding a picture from your past and sharing the memory of it.

Last week on Wednesday I posted about letting go of baggage that is holding you back and weighing you down. But the past is not necessarily all bad; looking back can be important. The trick with this though is to make sure we are focusing back on the right things. That is why I am most excited for this series. It will help us to focus on what really matters from the past...

Those moments that are picture perfect.
Those moments where the picture says 1,000 words.

And I can't wait to hear a memory of yours every week!

Week 1: Family at the Tulip Festival

For the first series post I had to pick one of my all time favorites. Pictured is my dad, mom, grandma, brother and myself. I was about four years old. We were at a tulip festival, which was over Mother's Day weekend. Can we address our insane semi-matching outfits?! Yes, those are wind suites! And yes, we all are wearing one! We're gonna go with..it was the trend back then!

One of the funniest things about this day was how there actually were not that many tulips to see. I can't exactly remember why, I was very young, but in reminiscing over this picture I have heard stories. The tulips we took a picture in front of were some of the few that were blossomed and pretty. But we were together, which meant more than the number of tulips there was.

Hope you all are as excited for this new series as I am!
Thanks Kayla! Also, feel free to link up with us too!

What is one of your favorite memories?

Choosing To Rise

Life is going to knock us down, that is no secret, but what's more important is choosing to get back up. There are times when things pile up and we can't seem to find our way out, but pushing forward will always be more rewarding in the end as compared to giving up. We often decide to give in because it seems like the easiest thing to do, however in doing so we limit our abilities.

The only way we end up losing in life is by not taking the opportunity to rise after we fall. Now, this is not to say that everything will then happen as we want. It won't. Doing the same thing repeatedly in the same way will always create identical results. Yet, it should be used as a chance to learn.

When we try and don't succeed it is not failure. Actually if we take the time to look back on what didn't go our way we end up learning more about who we are. It can help us to realize how we need to attack life the before us and all the curve balls we encounter. It can help us see how truly strong we are.

Source
The hardships we go through actually have the power to do more then just help ourselves. Have you ever thought about that? Have you ever thought about how your negative can help someone else have a positive? Because it can and you can. Hands down one of the most amazing moments there is, is helping someone else with a difficult time.

Source
We should not determine who we are and what our life means based on the times that haven't gone our way. Instead, we should look to how we need to pick up the pieces and put them back together. Overcoming is not easy, but trust me, it is worth the effort. Our struggles develop our strengths.

I can promise you life is going to be filled with twists and turns..
Some we understand and some we never will..
And the hardest decision we have is deciding if we get back up..

Will you?

MIMM #6 {Cause Everyday I'm Studyin}

Most days it is crazy to me that just 40 days from now I will be a college graduate. Boy, did four years fly by quick. This weekend, however definitely did its job in reminding me that I'm not done quite yet! I spent the last few days in the library, but it was wonderful in its own way because I was able to take in some moments that will be my last memories on campus.

As always, Monday's are for reminiscing the good from our weekends to start our week off on the right foot. So let's get those positive vibes rolling!

And remember to share your happiest times from the weekend too!

I decided to sleep in a little, but not too long, because I needed to get to the library as soon as soon as I could. I woke up around 10am allowing myself to take my time to get moving and walked into the library a little before noon!

I was camped out in the library until about 5pm. My biggest weekend assignment to tackle was an exam that needed to be turned in by Sunday night. I knew the exam was going to be intricate so I was prepared to do it over a few days with many brain breaks. Luckily there was no time limit!

Since I love my sports I opted to tune into March Madness through the CBS Live Feed when I needed a break.

The day ended having dinner with my parents and boyfriend watching more March Madness. Oh, and can't forget splitting this deliciousness with Billy!

Started much like Friday with the same result of heading up to the library except I got there around 11am instead of noon.

Around 2pm this cutie came to join bearing lunch! Pardon his concentration.

We left about 4:30pm just in time to catch the beginning of the Michigan game. After our victory, I was back to working on my exam.

In the morning as I drove down to practice I could not help but love the sunshine. The sun has such an awesome way of making you feel good!

When I was headed back after practice I ran into an unusual road block.

Can you guess where I was going? If you guessed library you are correct! But, it was to review and submit my exam. I feel very confident in it!

I was tagged to participate in the #nomakeupselfie for #cancerawareness via Instagram and even though I don't take selfies often this time I did.

To join in use the hashtags above and then tag someone to pass it on!

Overall my weekend was very productive!
How was yours?

I heard a song for the first time ever on the radio yesterday that I thought would be great for a tidbit of Monday motivation. Enjoy!

Be Okay by Oh Honey.
